What’s Changed at That’s Serendipity

FINALLY! Have completed the change over to WordPress from Blogger!

Cant say it wasnt without its problems and I still have a heap of things to fix re images etc. These things will be sorted out in due course

  1. The blog navigation bar has now moved to the top of the site up above the header
find site navigation 300x88 Whats Changed at Thats Serendipity

  2. For your convenience, a Cooking Conversion Calculator has been added to all recipe pages so as to allow you to convert oven temps and ingredient quantities on the fly if needed

  3. There is no more Google Friend Connect due to Google having closed down Friend Connect except for blogger blogs

  4. Free Digital Scrapbooking Downloads
    • All downloads are now hosted on Amazon. This means no having to divert you to a 3rd party file sharing website to get the download and no having to wait x number of seconds on a 3rd party file sharing site before you are able to access a download.

    • TOU have been updated. I no longer request a link back/mention if you use my freebies to createwebsite/blog templates, if you use my freebies for scrapping tutorials etc.

    • With having moved the downloads to Amazon, to prevent hot linking of files, the downloads are only available via www.thats-serendipity.com. If you are trying to download from a link in one of my rss feeds or from somewhere else that has posted the amazon link.. chances are you will see the following error page.
download error 300x85 Whats Changed at Thats Serendipity

    • TO ACCESS A DOWNLOAD the post with the freebie must be tweeted or liked on fb or g+ via the provided box to access the download link.
access download 300x108 Whats Changed at Thats Serendipity

Once liked or tweeted, the page will take a couple of moments to refresh and you will then see a download button similar to the following appear:
download Whats Changed at Thats Serendipity
If you are not logged into the relevant account, the relevant platform (twitter,fb or google) will ask you to log into your account. Dependant on your browser, where the like button is in the box, you may see a small text link appear that says “confirm”, asking you to confirm the “like”. Once this is done and the page has refreshed you should be able to access the download via the abovementioned download button.

If you have problems, please Contact Me and let me know.

I dont receive/see any of your personal information when you tweet or like a post, its all handled directly by the software. It does however use cookies but only so a particular page remembers if you have tweeted or liked that page previously. If you have, then the cookie stays on your computer for 120 days or until you clear cookies. Once the cookie expires or you clear your cookies, then to access that particular download again, the page will have to be tweeted or liked again.

For those of you that do leave a comment saying thank you or that have been giving That’s Serendipity a mention when you post in galleries etc using my freebies, you have my deepest appreciation and thank you, it means the world to me!

Unfortunately though it seems more and more ppl are happy to download without so much as a word, so the required like or tweet to download (at least for me) seems like a slightly fairer exchange in return for the continuation of providing these free resources.

  5. If given a choice, would you prefer a free membership site whereby being a member simply allows you access to all of the current and future freebies with no tweet or like required.. or do you prefer this setup where a page has to be liked or tweeted to access the download link?
    Interested in hearing your thoughts
