I’ve been having a bit of a think about changing blogging platforms of late.
I first looked at selfhosted WordPress a few years back and to be honest, I detested it.
For a noob, it was the most un-user friendly type of software I could have imagined; next to
Adobe PS5, which many moons ago I opened a photo in and then didn’t go near it again until
PS7 (by which time I had managed to spend a while finding my way around a couple of ‘lesser’ photo
editing programs).
Why consider changing?
More control over design of the blog and what functionality and features I can build into it.
I use the Catalyst framework (not an affiliate link), which is awesome to work with.
The Dynamik child theme offers so much design flexibility and with such ease, it makes changing WP sites a joy.
Dont get me wrong, I do like Blogger. I’m just not sure that it fits my needs any longer when I look at the bigger scheme
of things.
