Seems That’s Serendipity and my blog Google Analytics for the Average Joe have both been struck down by whatever is ailing the Google Friend Connect/Followers widget atm.
Seems there are quite a few people having problems at this point in time and have been on and off since April. There is a thread on the Blogger Help Forum to report it to, if you blog is also suffering this problem.

If a blog hasnt disabled the Blogger nav bar at the very top of the page, you can always hit follow in that and still follow a blog even if the widget isnt available
