Stopping to catch my breath…

I apologise for the lack of free scrap creations of late. Life has been a whirlwind of activity!

Chris and I are finally starting the process of getting my Green Card. YIPEE!!

Once that is sorted out, I’ll be able go forth and apply for a Learner’s permit for driving and also seek some sort of employment … finally … WAHOOOOOOOOOOOO. So, I’ve had my head down and tail up with study that I want/need to complete as part of my pathway to achieving those goals.

We had a lovely Easter. The evening prior, hubby, daughter and I shared time together dying eggs. Easter morning we were enveloped in a huge thick fog, so we went and grabbed coffee and some bagels and sat at the local dock to eat whilst looking out over The Great South Bay. It was just like something out of a Stephen King novel. We often get fog here, but this was the thickest I have ever seen it and later in the day.

Each year Chris gets cherub and I a gorgeous handmade chocolate easter egg from the sweet shop at Hicksville and we also had a lovely lunch with Chris’s mum and brother.

I’ve been flat out busy with things going on with daughter. She recently had a thyroid ultrasound done which now needs follow up with an Endo..along with a scoliosis xray that also needs follow up with an Ortho. The Ortho follow up from what I understand is pretty routine for teens with a curvature of over 10 degrees, so I’m not too concerned by this as it seems to mainly be just a case of monitoring it over time for changes. The thyroid issue does have me a little concerned due to what was found however I’ll sit tight on that just for the moment until we see the Endo next week and see what is said.

On the upside, we recently also had the screening interview for the 30 day intensive program the school recommended her for. Daughter has been accepted and we are just in the process of getting some tests for that completed such as blood works, EKG etc and once that is all done then they will be able to give her a start date. I think this is a really huge positive in the process of getting her transitioned back to some sort of full time schooling along with whatever assistance/treatment she needs in regards to the depression, mood swings and such. With that though, also comes some apprehension as I have no idea how she is going to go with it, or if she will follow through and complete the 30 days. I guess we will just have to wait and see how it all unfolds. Roll on starting date!

Whims
xx
