Not too long ago I was able to secure an invite to use the Hello Bar.
For those of you wondering what the Hello Bar is, if you look up there at the top of the blog in your browser there is a rather unobtrusive bar with a link to our RSS feed.
After a while it quietly rolls away out of sight and you are left with a small button at the upper right of the site window that wiggles occasionally for attention.
Installing is as easy as copy and pasting a small amount of code into your site or blog. Hello Bar comes with stats to let you know how many impressions of the bar have been shown and how many clicks it has received. You are able to customize colors, fonts, the information you place into the bar, the links. You can even have it update with new info from an rss feed or from your twitter account.
I have 5 Hello Bar invites to give away. If you would like the chance of possibly receiving one of these invites then join in the fun and do the following:
1) Follow That’s Serendipity via Google Friend Connect. You can join via the GFC widget available at the right of the blog
2) Once you are following That’s Serendipity, be sure to post a comment below using your GFC identity and let me know in what way you think you would use The Hello Bar on your website or blog.
Would you use it to show visitors your latest tweets?
Maybe you have an online store and you’d like to notify ppl of new store content and give a link to it?
You could also use it to advertise an free offer as a thank you to visitors for subscribing to your website/blogs newsletter.
