Time to grab the kayaks!

flooding05a Time to grab the kayaks!

As I mentioned in my previous post, most of our suburb has been underwater in varying degrees. The stink has finally abated, however last night the smell was worse than 1000 dirty nappies (give or take a few)!!!

Unfortunately these pics are somewhat misleading/deceptive in that they don’t really give a clear indication as to just how deep the water is in some parts. Most of the houses are not at street level and their yards and driveways etc are raised up somewhat to begin with, so the water is quite a bit deeper in spots than what it seems to be in the photos. The third pic down of the boat, normally, the top of the boats windshield (? i’m not a boating person lol) would be about level with the top of the wooden pylons that are next to it; this area is usually a canal with a footpath and boats docked along the canal in the water and its a good step down into one of the boats especially at low tide

If you want to see larger versions of the pics, you can click on any one of them and then scroll thru the set of larger images by mousing over the left or right edge of each image which will display a ‘next’ or ‘prev’ photo link.
